KGFW TELEVISION
2009 KGFW Television
KGFW Television is a FREE after school program.
Wade Werner, GFW Elementary School Computer Teacher, began creating KGFW-TV in the fall of 2001. The initial concept of the project was to immerse students in new technology through the means of a Community Technology Center and Public Access Television. Now, the 10-year-old participants enlighten and entertain audiences spanning the globe through public access television, VHS, and DVD technology. Participants meet weekly for one hour; story boarding their shows, coming up with interview questions, and listing off places they would like to visit and people they would like to meet. Werner then coordinates the meeting times and places with the potential interviewees. When all the footage has been digitally captured, Werner then uses video editing software to turn the participants work into full length television shows and mass produces them though the means of a DVD duplicator/printer. Their productions have become staples on Sibley County's Public Access Channels 7 & 8.
