Goodhue Elementary News
Remembering a Classmate Our Fourth Grade Students talked, cried, laughed and talked some more about their classmate Derek Strickland who lost his life last Friday afternoon. The fourth graders created posters and banners for others to write their memories down regarding their amazing classmate. We will always keep Derek in our heart and we all our thinking of his family members during these tough times.
TALENT SHOW Talent Show will be at 1:30 on May 25th in Gym 2. Auditions will start on May 16 over the students recess time. These auditions will conclude on May 18th.
PENNY DRIVE Our Elementary was involved in a community service project called the Penny Challenge. The service is supporting our community school with a new gym floor by creating a friendly challenge between grade levels. For the past five days, grades have been placing pennies in their grade level buckets, while placing silver coins in other grades, which subtracts from the total penny count.
Congratulations to our Kindergarten for winning the PENNY CHALLENGE this year. Our third graders raised the most money overall, but once we subtracted the silver coins from the pennies, the K took the pizza recess prize.
The workers will be staining tonight. This weekend and into early next week they will start painting.
Thanks again everyone!
