2013 Veterans Day Program

Harriet Bishop 4th graders honored military veterans with a special program on Monday, Nov. 11. The performance included several patriotic songs, a flag ceremony, and honoring of the family members of students and staff who have served in the military. In addition, special guest Sgt. John Thompson spoke on service to country and community, and how that can take many forms.

Letter from the Principal

These first two months of school have flown by! We've had parent nights, MAP tests, conferences, family movie night and the Hornet Hoedown.

We also had state test results (MCA) come out in early fall. (click on Read More to see results)

In the beginning of October, the state's Multiple Measurement Ratings (MMR) came out. These ratings are based on math and reading proficiency, student growth and achievement-gap reductions. Last year, we had an MMR of 76.3%, but this year we jumped to 90.5%.

E-News is Changing: Be sure you're getting the information you want

Our school is updating the way we send e-newsletters to parents. Starting in August 2013, instead of using a separate messaging system, we're going to use the email addresses already provided by parents through their students' health and emergency forms. This way, there's only one account for you (and us) to maintain.
